SERKET Partners with Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation
June 3rd, 2014
SERKET Racing welcomes the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF) as a new philanthropic partner in its mission to raise funds and awareness for military veterans and their families.
SERKET Racing will support MC-LEF by contributing a percentage of sponsorship funds received during the racing season to the Foundation for use in its education and assistance initiatives for veterans and their families.
“We are very impressed with what the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation has done so far to improve the lives of military families,” said SERKET Racing owner-driver Mark Llano, a former Marine. “We also agree that our children are our most precious resource, and by investing in their well-being, we are ensuring a better, safer world for future generations.”
Much like SERKET Racing, MC-LEF acknowledges the sacrifices of our veterans and warfighters, and their families. MC-LEF has the goal of encouraging the spiritual, moral, intellectual and physical development of children through education. The foundation was formed in February 1995 with the belief that our nation’s youth are our most precious resource.
Since that time, the Foundation has distributed more than $62 million to eligible children. This assistance was primarily rendered to children of Marines or Federal law enforcement personnel who were killed on duty or died under extraordinary circumstances while serving our country at home or abroad. These funds enable the Foundation to provide these children with scholarships for their higher education.
MC-LEF became a partner with SERKET Racing after Llano attended the organization’s annual charity gala in New York and was impressed with MC-LEF’s dedication and passion for giving back to the families of our nation’s finest.
“The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation is proud and excited to partner with the SERKET Racing team in raising awareness and supporting our mission to provide scholarship funds and humanitarian aid to Marine Corps families,” said MC-LEF President Ed Boran.
SERKET Racing and Llano compete in the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama series with the No. 24 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.
