Fans Can Support U.S. Military, Veterans Through New SERKET Initiative
June 19th, 2014
SERKET Racing is rolling out a new feature on its website to help fans to get involved in supporting the team’s mission: raising awareness and support for U.S. military veterans and their families in their time of need.
Fans can choose one of SERKET Racing’s philanthropic partners and donate directly to that charity based on SERKET owner-driver Mark Llano’s race performances.
Fans can pledge $1 or more per lap completed, with a maximum of 50 laps. Each donor can choose which race they want to sponsor and which charity they want to support.
The charitable partners with which SERKET Racing works:
The Fisher House Foundation is best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.
The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) is a program designed to provide training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 veterans with disabilities resulting from their military service. The mission of the EBV is to open the door to business ownership for our veterans by developing skills that relate to the many steps associated with launching and growing a small business.
The Xtreme Couture GI Foundation was founded by MMA champion and U.S. Army veteran,Randy Couture to honor the veterans of America’s armed forces. The foundation was especially formed to raise money and awareness for those wounded in action and their families.
The American Freedom Foundation’s mission is to honor the men and women of America’s armed forces, raise awareness for their service and sacrifice, and raise money for organizations that serve and support our veterans, active duty military and their families.
The Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation acknowledges the sacrifices that not only our veterans and warfighters make, but also their families. The foundation encourages the spiritual, moral, intellectual and physical development of children through education.
SERKET Racing College of Nursing Veteran Scholarship at Florida State University will provide much-needed support to nursing students who were in the military, are serving in the military or who will serve in the military after graduation.
The chosen organization will be notified of any pledges in their name and will bill individuals after the completion of the races.
Pledges of $2 or more per lap will receive a free Warriors Live By A Code…™ wristband. All donations are tax deductible and eligible for corporate matching gifts.
