SERKET Racing faces a long weekend of racing as it takes on the next three rounds of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama Aug. 8-10 at Road America.

The team will look to build off the momentum from Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in early July, where driver Mark Llano recorded two third-place Gold Master podium finishes.

“Road America is a beautiful track, and the way they have set the track up, it’s very safe, as well,” said Llano, a Motorsport Safety Foundation board member. “We’re very excited to go there and do our best to podium again.

Former Marine Llano and his team will compete for a fourth time on the challenging 4.048-mile, 14-turn track. Known as the Disneyland of road courses, Road America is also famous for its front stretch between Turn 14 and Turn 1, where drivers can reach 150 mph.

“Road America is an awesome track,” Llano said. “It is a very long track, very open track, and in some areas it’s very technical. You can’t get too comfortable because with the technical turns, you make one mistake and you give up valuable position. But our second car seems to be rock solid, and everyone at NGT put together a heck of a car in such a short time. Right now the confidence in our team is unbelievable, so we’re going to stick with what’s working.”

Track action will begin Friday, Aug. 8 with two practice sessions. Qualifying will take place at 8 a.m. (CT) Saturday, Aug. 9, followed by Round 11 of the season later in the day at 6:05 p.m. Sunday will feature two more 45-minute sprints, with Round 12 at 9:50 a.m. and the rescheduled Round 6 at 5 p.m.
