SERKET RACING TO GET ITS BOOTS ON TO SUPPORT VETERANS AT COTA
September 17th, 2014
WELLINGTON, Fla. (Sept. 17, 2014) - SERKET Racing is getting its boots back on the ground for Rounds 13 and 14 of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama on Sept. 18-19 at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
SERKET Racing driver Mark Llano will look to extend his momentum, as he has collected four podium results in the last five races, while supporting the Boot Campaign to continue promoting the SERKET Racing mission.
Llano raced on the 3.4-mile, 20-turn road course, one of his favorite tracks on the schedule, last season and was back at COTA earlier this month with NGT Motorsport for a test day to get as much seat time as possible before race weekend.
“We love it here,” Llano said. “The track gets better every time we race. The facilities are amazing, and the fan support for our mission is fantastic.”
The No. 24 Porsche will sport a slightly different look this week with SERKET Racing partnering with theNational Navy SEAL Museum for a benefit mission at COTA. The SERKET Racing car will feature logos from various veteran-owned businesses. At the end of the race weekend, the hood will be donated to the Navy SEAL Museum to be auctioned, with proceeds going toward supporting the Museum.
“We are so excited to be working with the great people at the Navy SEAL Museum,” said Marine veteran Llano. “Their dedication to making sure to preserve the legacy of the SEALs is unparalleled, and we are honored to be a part of it.”
Racing will be only a part of the weekend for SERKET Racing. The team is also proud to partner with MOMO Motorsport to bring the Faces of Our Freedom (FOOF) High Speed Experience to COTA for the weekend.
FOOF is a program of the Boot Campaign, an organization dedicated to cultivating awareness, promoting patriotism and providing assistance to military personnel. With SERKET Racing sharing similar beliefs through its mission, the team has sponsored the FOOF program to bring five veterans to the track for a weekend of racing.
“We’ve been fans of the Boot Campaign for some time now,” Llano said. “Whether it’s tackling issues of joblessness or family support, they do a great job supporting our veterans, and we are excited to be working with them in Austin.”
In addition, members of the sports car racing community will “get their boots on” to show support for SERKET Racing, the Boot Campaign, and our military and veterans.
You can directly support the Boot Campaign by “getting your BOOTS on” and purchasing a pair from the Boot Campaign store.
